24-hour ECG monitoring (Holter)
The recorder measures roughly 7 × 2 × 2 cm, so even smaller children tolerate it comfortably. It is worn continuously for 24 hours.
-
During monitoring your child must not shower or bathe — neither the device nor the electrodes may come into contact with water.
-
Your child can carry on with normal daily activities, including going to school.
-
Contact sports training is not suitable, as the device could be damaged or pulled off.
-
Looser clothing works best — for girls a skirt or trousers, so that the device has something to be clipped to.
-
In the record sheet provided, please note the time and type of all activities and symptoms that may affect the pulse: sleep, meals, exercise, palpitations, chest pain, dizziness.
-
Return the completed sheet together with the recorder — without it the recording cannot be reliably assessed.
Please return the device the following day at 7:30 a.m., unless we agree otherwise. Please be punctual: once the data has been downloaded and the device disinfected, it is fitted to the next patient, so keeping to the return time means other patients do not have to wait. Thank you.
